Sheraton Lake Como is perfectly situated in Cernobbio. An easy walk to the lake or jump on a bus and you are in Como in about 10 minutes. Buses are easily accessed a short walk from the front of the building. The hotel is set on a beautiful private park, it feels like a world away from everywhere. The Sheraton Lake Como becomes your own little oasis and retreat from the bustle of sightseeing. The absolute perfect place to stay at Lake Como.
Our room, Lake Como where to stay
We stayed in a beautiful, spacious room overlooking the gardens. The furnishings were all of a high quality and very luxurious. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable to the point of indulgent. Perfect to sink into after a day out visiting the lake! A chair to read in and a desk to work at completed the space as did the mini fridge and coffee station. We wanted for nothing while at the Sheraton Lake Como, it was the perfect place to stay!
The bathroom was impeccably decorated with stunning marble tiling accented with dark wood tones. The bath products were a soft cedar fragrance. It was and so calming for both the morning and evening. The shower was incredible! The rainfall shower head was heavenly and made it difficult to leave this spa like space.
Facilities
The Gym
There is a fully equipped gym on site that caters for all your exercise needs while on holiday. With cardio and weight machines and free weights there is something for everyone’s exercise style. There is an app that delivers exercise programs if you prefer class style fitness. Sheraton Lake Como has really thought of everyone here. They make it so easy to enjoy your stay.
Breakfast
The breakfast at the Sheraton Lake Como Hotel is the best we have ever experienced. The staff are incredible, you will want and wait for nothing. Within moments of sitting down we were offered tea or coffee and it was delivered quickly and delicious! The options are endless at the buffet. There are hot foods with chefs there to make omelettes to order. An extensive meats and cheese section complete with slicer and the most delicious looking bread and cake selection. Even I as a coeliac was catered for, without requesting anything! A huge gluten free selection of breads, cakes, biscuits. I have never seen such a range! The drinks selection was as perfect as the food. There was fresh juice, a juicer to create your own. We loved the sparkling wine for a cheeky morning mimosa to celebrate your fantastic day ahead!
The pool
The pool area is to die for. Set with the hotel as the backdrop yet shielded away from sight on a beautiful green lawn area it glimmers in the morning sun. With a heavenly spa area and big pool there is space for everyone. In the warm summers day it would be the perfect place to lounge in the sun.
There is a pool bar and café area where you can take shade with food and drinks. Spending the day here would be my idea of perfection! Make sure to keep one of your days aside to experience this.
Restaurants
There are two restaurants on site, both offering high quality meals. The Kitchen Restaurant is a Michelin Star restaurant at the front of the property, set amongst the gardens. Covered in wisteria it is picture perfect and dreamy.
The Gusto restaurant is inside the main building upstairs. It has a modern ambiance and is a lovely place to have a quiet, delicious meal.
Bar Fresco is a very cool place for a drink. Surrounded by art, books and soft music it is relaxing and inviting.
The park area
There is a park area with children’s equipment to keep them busy in a beautiful green surrounds of the park. I’m sure they will be happy at the Sheraton!
The area is dog friendly and a great place to take them for them to walk.
There is a cute little kitchen garden in front of the Kitchen Restaurant. We loved visiting. it was sweet and quiet. The perfect serene spot to enjoy the beauty of the grounds.
Staff
We really feel that an important part of visiting a hotel is the staff. They are the first impression of the hotel and can really make the time you spend there special.
We found that staff at the Sheraton Lake Como to be friendly, kind and helpful people. From the moment we checked in to check out we were greeted in a friendly way. Assisted with directions, tips on what to see and the easiest way to get there and checked in on that all was well. We both felt that we were staying with people who cared about both their hotel and guests experience. We overheard interactions with guests which were much the same. It is obvious that the staff were kind and caring and would do what was possible to make sure that guests were happy.
They even sent us a little welcome gift. A lovely locally produced gin that we thoroughly enjoyed!
Final thoughts
Sheraton has so much to offer! It really is the perfect place to stay to create your ideal Lake Como getaway. Not only is it a short walk to enjoy the lake it is a very quick bus ride into Como itself. Spending a day sightseeing and in total relaxation is the perfect way to unwind.
