Vancouver Airport Lounge – Plaza Premium Lounge Vancouver is a must!

by Kelly

Vancouver Airport Lounge – Plaza Premium Lounge Vancouver is a must! It is the best way to make your flight more enjoyable!  We had a very late flight, Vancouver to Brisbane leaving at 22:55. We really didn’t want to sit around the airport and be uncomfortable so decided to try Plaza Premium Lounge.

Location | Vancouver Airport Lounge – Plaza Premium Lounge Vancouver is a must!

The Plaza Premium Lounge in Vancouver International Airport is currently moving to a new destination and a temporary lounge is in use until it opens. The temporary lounge is located after passing through International Security near D68 and although temporarily it is still very plush. There is a large area near the windows cordoned off for the temporary lounge use. Looking back toward the hot buffet it’s possible to see where the new lounge will be. It is very exciting and looks like the perfect location.

The facilities | Vancouver Airport Lounge – Plaza Premium Lounge Vancouver is a must!

While not all of the facilities were in operation in the temporary site it was still very comfortable. The chairs were large, plush and relaxing, situated right next to huge windows overlooking planes coming and going! When the new location opens there will be private showers and toilets, separate lounge area and workspaces etc.

Dining | Vancouver Airport Lounge – Plaza Premium Lounge Vancouver is a must!

The dining options in the Plaza Premium lounge were exceptional.  The quality was excellent and the range of options was second to none. By the check in area there was a cold bar of salads as well as sandwiches which wrapped so you could take them to go if required. There was a dessert section with mango cake, strawberry cake, tiramisu and cupcakes.

In the back section there was a full hot buffet. The multiple options were all gluten free and we loved the delicious chicken cacciatore with fluffy mashed potatoes as well as jambalaya and mixed vegetables! We were so spoilt for choice and were excited to try a little of everything.

The staff at Plaza Premium Lounge were so sweet and organised us an incredible cheese board which was completely gluten free as they heard I had an allergy, it was the cheese board of my dreams! We began nibbling away with a glass of sparkling in hand and toasted to the wonderful experience that Plaza Premium Lounge Vancouver International Airport provides.

There were multiple drinks available at Plaza Premium Lounge, Mike loved the local beer, Steamworks Pale Ale while I enjoyed a Pinot Grigio and sparkling.

The service | Vancouver Airport Lounge – Plaza Premium Lounge Vancouver is a must!

The service at Plaza Premium International Airport was exceptional. The staff were so kind and generous, they really looked after not only us but every one of their customers. Each staff member took care of their guests with a happy smile, something that can make all the difference when travelling, particularly on long travel days such as ours.

Why choose Plaza Premium Lounge at Vancouver International Airport

This is hands down the loveliest lounge we have been in. Even with a temporary location it is the warmth of the staff and the high quality of the food that sets it apart. When travelling, all you want is a friendly face and comfortable place to recharge between flights. This is what you’ll find it at Plaza Premium Lounge, Vancouver International Airport. Instead of rushing and feeling disheveled before a flight, treat yourself. Take a moment to eat a meal, sip a delicious wine or beer and relax before boarding, we highly recommend it.

Best Place to stay in Vancouver

We stayed at the St Regis Hotel and it was excellent! We can’t recommend it more highly. The rooms are spacious, the beds are super comfortable and the staff are incredible. The location is perfectly centred in the heart of Downtown you can walk the city easily or jump on public transport. This our full review of our stay at the St Regis Hotel.
