Location in Sorrento
Casa Marino is located right on Corso Italia which is a main shopping street in Sorrento. It is surrounded by gelaterias, restaurants and shops. You can walk right out of the door and find yourself with ample food choices, bars and stores to browse. It is a bustling atmosphere and you can walk to everywhere!
The Owners
We booked through Booking.com and it was an easy and simple check in. Our host Netty contacted us with directions to find our way more easily. She was incredibly helpful and lovely, willing to help in any circumstance and absolutely made our stay wonderful. Caring and thoughtful she found out that I was coeliac and added gluten free snacks to those that were already provided for us. Nothing was too much trouble for Netty, she was more than happy to help with any questions or to give recommendations on activites and restaurants.
The room
Our room is called Carmella (to request it ask for stanza Carmella con balcone) It was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The bed may be the most comfortable we have slept on anywhere in our travels. The sheets were of a high quality and the pillows were a dream.
There was a fridge, kettle and snacks provided to take on our day trips. The bathroom looked brand new. It was spacious and fitted out with chromotherapy in the shower and a mirror light. It was small details like these that really make this hotel. The remotes for the TV and the shower lighting (chromotherapy) are provided in a sanitised bag. The security is excellent and the building is lovely.
We loved the balcony, sitting out there in the evening with a drink. We would go and get a takeaway pizza from our favourite restaurant and sit outside to eat and people watch. It was endlessly entertaining watching people decide where to eat, strolling the street and enjoying the atmosphere.
We really couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. Casa Marino was the perfect choice for comfort, cleanliness, friendly host and charm of the area. I was even given a little gift on our farewell. Netty makes these lovely lace earrings by hand and told me to choose one. She likes to give her guests something to remind them of their stay. Our time here was so wonderful that we are already planning when we can return to this lovely, friendly hotel!
