We had one day to see everything we could of St Moritz and were looking for the perfect place to stay to have the best experience, we found it at Hotel Sonne Pizzeria and Restaurant, the best place to stay in St Moritz!

Location and getting around
We arrived on the Glacier Express that landed right at the train station. Hotel Sonne Pizzeria and Restaurant is conveniently located in St Moritz Bad. It was only an 8 minute bus ride from the train station. The buses are well organised and easy to use. We walked into the hotel and were greeted by the first of many very friendly and helpful staff members. It is also located right next to a beautiful lake which we enjoyed at sunset.
Check in
Check in was easy, we were given our keys and made to feel welcome and at home. Hotel Sonne is the perfect place to feel at ease during your St Moritz stay.
We loved the nod to the history of St Moritz, we spent time looking over the old photographs and maps around the hotel.
Our room
Our room was incredible! We had a massive king sized bed that was so comfortable we didn’t want to leave the room.
The contemporary aesthetic was cosy vibe but cool. There was everything we could possibly need, a lounge for relaxing, a safe, coffee and tea station.
Our bathroom was spacious and luxurious. Beautifully designed there was a walk-in rainfall shower and the largest vanillty we’ve seen! It was all perfecly clean, we were able to relax and really unwind.
We also had an expansive outdoor area complete with an outdoor setting, opening windows and a sliding door to close off the area. The views to the town and mountains were magical.
Restaurant
The restaurant at Hotel Sonne is incredible. The staff are kind, attentive and genuine. The food was exceptionally good. Mike chose a veal cordon blue and I had the gluten free gnocchi. We started with 2 of the best Aperol spritz we’ve ever had and followed it all with gelato!
It was the perfect meal with such a charming ambiance. They also have a pizza oven for the best looking pizzas around! I wished again I wasn’t coeliac so I could have one.
Breakfast
Breakfast is available in the restaurant in the morning. It is a big buffet set up with all the breakfast items you could want! Both hot and cold foods, a great range of fresh fruits and yoghurt, huge bread and spreads selection and gluten free on request! It was the perfect way to start a day in a beautiful city. There was a lovely staff member on hand to assist you and who kept everything immaculately tidy and topped up! We were offered coffee or tea as soon as we sat and it was delivered promptly and was excellent. The staff are very quick and well organised, you wait for nothing.
Final Thoughts
With its excellent location, luxurious aesthetic and the lovely, welcoming staff Hotel Sonne Pizzeria and Hotel is the perfect place to stay in St Moritz! The whole hotel is of an excellent quality and full of genuine warmth and great hospitality you long for when travelling. The attention to detail and guest care is exceptional.
