Where is Vancouver located?

Vancouver is located in British Colombia in Canda, just above the USA border.

Is Vancouver worth visiting?

Yes! We loved our time in Vancouver and really think it is totally underrated. There’s so much to do we wish we had more time and are already planning our next visit.

How much time for Vancouver?

We spent three days in Vancouver but really could have stayed well over a week. While this itinerary is for 3 days we have also written a blog with all our favourite activities and some we are planning to come back to do in case you have more time!

Vancouver Weekend Trip

Can you do Vancouver in a weekend? Definitely! A Vancouver weekend trip is totally possible, while this is a three days in Vancouver itinerary you could easily rearrange it to fit into a Vancouver weekend trip. I have also written a blog on Things to do in Vancouver Canada where we have all the best things to do in Vancouver!

Where to stay in Vancouver?

We stayed at the St Regis Hotel and it was excellent! We can’t recommend it more highly. The rooms are spacious, the beds are super comfortable and the staff are incredible. The location is perfectly centred in the heart of Downtown you can walk the city easily or jump on public transport. This our full review of our stay at the St Regis Hotel Vancouver.

Do I need a car for Vancouver?

No, Vancouver is completely walkable or accessible by public transportation. The metro system is excellent and the buses run most exactly to time, it really couldn’t be easier. A car would be useful if visiting attractions further outside of the city but it’s not essential as there’s great tour options for these too.

What to do in Vancouver?

This is our three day Vancouver itinerary, you could definitely stay longer and I’ve added extra activities at the end in case you have more time. We plan to come back and do these.

Three days in Vancouver Itinerary

Vancouver Day 1:

Arrive in the city, visit Queen Elizabeth Park with a coffee, explore Granville Island Public Market and have some lunch, then go whale watching and have dinner in the city.

Vancouver Day 2:

Explore Capilano Suspension Bridge in the morning, grab a bite there then hike the Dam trail. Head back into Downtown and go on a brewery tour or spend the afternoon sampling your favourites at The Red Truck Brewery. In the evening go to a hockey game.

Vancouver Day 3:

Hire a bike and cycle through Stanley Park. Take a picnic, have a snack at the tea house or fish and chips at Third Beach Concession.

Return your bikes and stop off at the Marine Building to marvel at the 1920s design, checkout the public library and cathedral. Stop off for some souvenir shopping at Hudson House a heritage building with beautiful window displays, then go to the Vancouver Lookout for sunset views of the city.

We loved spending Three days in Vancouver, this itinerary is how we had the best time. It leaves enough time to wander the city and relax at the beautiful St Regis Hotel.
