Looking for where to stay in Copenhagen? Let me introduce you to The Annex hotel, the perfect hotel to experience Copenhagen. We were excited for our two day visit and couldn’t wait to see as much as possible. Arriving into chilly Copenhagen was a shock to the senses straight from warm Gold Coast weather but the Annex was just the place to warm up!
Where to stay in Copenhagen – Location
Conveniently located close to the train station. We easily walked to the hotel and were greeted by the first of many very friendly and helpful staff members. It is in the Vesterbro area of Copenhagen which is one of the hippest and coolest areas. Right out the door you will find bars and cafes to enjoy.
Check In
Check in was simple! We had already filled in our pre check-in information, our keys were made and we were in our room with 5 minutes. In the Annex check in area there is an option to receive a 100dkk voucher once you have left a Trip Advisor review. It is definitely worth doing!
The Rooms
Our room was an exciting design. There were red features through out, with lighting that had a 60s/70s style, it was so unique and fun! We stayed in room 622, it was spacious and very comfortable. It was quiet and overlooked a courtyard for guests.
The beds were ultra comfortable and the rooms heating was just perfect. Having our own bathroom was great and the cute design matched the room.
The Annex hotel provides Ren skincare products in all their rooms, such a treat after a long journey.
The hotel has recently renovated almost all of the rooms. We were lucky enough to be able to check them out. Our favourites were rooms 624, 212, 408,122, which were all just as comfortable as ours in different configurations. My favourite parts were the views! Windows overlooking the charming streets of Copenhagen! What more could you want for your stay than to experience the quaint life outside from a birds eye view. Some of the rooms overlooks a courtyard where the charm of daily life can be observed. It’s very peaceful and I found it hard to draw myself away.
Where to stay in Copenhagen – The Hotel
The Annex has a simple elf Check in area. You will enter at their sister property next door, the Absalon, and go through to the self check in area of the Annex. The décor is very quirky and cute.
Breakfast is available next door as well and my gosh what a breakfast! Loaded with selections of breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt and hot eggs, sausages, pancakes you will want for nothing! I was even provided with gluten free bread toasted in a separate toaster! All the food was fresh and delicious the wait staff were so helpful and lovely. This was a common theme through out this hotel.
We loved our time at Annex Hotel. It’s excellent location, dynamic 60s style aesthetic are all wonderful but it really is the absolutely charming staff that really set it apart. They really were so kind and helpful we felt we were staying with locals and experienced the best of Copenhagen! Our top tip is to ask for a street view room and definitely get breakfast, you won’t regret it!
